It sounds hard, but the Apartment, an interior design agency, pulled it off. They completely converted a 7,000 square-foot YMCA gym into a beautiful 5 bedroom apartment building. Every aspect of the apartment is stunning, from the vibrant colors to the detailed wallpaper and carpets. This impressive building even has an indoor garden and a 12 person theater.
Australian editor turned designer, Kym Ellery, probably learned a lot from her time as market editor at Russh Magazine taking note of what Editors want to see. She translated this knowledge into her on line dubbed Ellery. Elleryland.com just launched featuring a few images of her various lines which exude an urban, rock, chic combination that delivers some uber glam items (particularly those studded leggings). LA based label L’ecole Des Femmes’ new collection is amazing: Minnie Mouse ears, prom dresses and skinny ties mix up white blouses and denim shorts.
Now in its third season, the ‘School of Women’ has come a long way from its origins. The label was “conceived in the back seat of a black convertible spider in 1962 by Georgette Malbesee and Jean Pierre Lachemescouilles through the cold smoke of a pair of unfiltered cigarettes.”
With s/s 09 its best collection to date, the label is set to stay.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Celebrity disc jockey DJ AM has been released from a Georgia hospital after suffering severe burns in a fiery plane crash a week ago, a spokeswoman for the musician said Friday.
“While he is deeply saddened by the events he is thankful for all of the love and support he has been receiving from fans and friends,” spokeswoman Jenni Weinman said in a statement.
DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, and former Blink-182drummer Travis Barker, were rushed to a burn hospital in Augusta, Ga., after their Learjet crashed on takeoff from a Columbia airport. Doctors have said they expect both men to fully recover.
Two pilots and two other passengers who were close friends of the musicians were killed in the crash just before midnight Sept. 19.

I just found these photos from a recent editorial of Oyster Magazine and I just had to post them because the style reminded so much of my friends Marylouise Pels and Vanessa Giovacchini over at Posso the Spat. Its that superhero meets space creature in the most historic urban habitat vibe protrayed here in this shoot that the Possos manifest here in L.A. The only thing missing in this shoot is some spats.
The founders of nerdbots are oddly obsessed with all things robot, married couple Nicholas and Angela from Kansas City, Missouri, decided on a whim one day to do nothing other than to build one themselves.
After piecing together parts found at their favorite antique and thrift stores, they created their first robot friend. Since that first day, Nicholas and Angela have added many fabulously geeky robots to their beloved robotic collection.
