The Kiltro House [Chile]

The architects at Supersudaka have taken a unique approach to architecture with their contemporary design for Kiltro House in Talca, Chile. They’re motto is “We don’t want to change the world with architecture, we want to change architecture.” With that said, Kiltro House is an unconventional concept for cool, contemporary living. During the design and construction process, “Everything was in constant change: the program, the surface, building permits, the contractors, even the view! The modus operandi is rather based on mistakes than certainties,” according to the architects. “

The result: a mix, a bastardized design, a fusion, like a crossbreed dog, in Chilean: a Kiltro.” The home’s modern metal frame comes wrapped in a warm wood and glass facade, complementing its surroundings and embracing the spectacular view. The avant-garde roofline features a flat top to accommodate the rooftop patio. Supported by stilts, the home’s design allows it to sit comfortably on the steep slope of the Chilean Central Valley.
