Mixed media artist William Hundley is showcasing his first solo show at the Kinsey/DesForges Gallery in Los Angeles. Hundley has created a large-scale on-sight installation, adapting the tangible textiles used in the photography (on exhibit), into a sculptural materialization.
To note, none of the images are digitally altered—rather, human models leap like gazelles underneath segments of fabric, then captured at just the right moment, their identities are concealed and the textile forms take on another life. Chance certainly plays a significant role in the process, as Hundley acknowledges, “You may fail at executing your original idea, but the mistakes you make along the way have beautiful and unpredictable results.”
