Ms. Goldman was the main person with whom designers commissioned to submit sketches for Michelle Obama’s inaugural weekend wardrobe had any contact with. While some see this as a negative departure from previous first ladies who have gone directly to the designers of their interest, having a fashion savvy stylist guarding Ms. Obama’s wardrobe could open the door for up and rising stars like Jason Wu whose business has increased three-fold since Michelle Obama wore his dress on inaugural night.
