La Roux : In for the Kill

You may remember seeing a really cool video we posted back in May of musical duo La Roux, for their track “Bulletproof” (see here), and for today’s song I wanted to bring you another one of their ill tracks, “In for the Kill”. La Roux are a British electropop synth duo band made up of singer and synth player Elly Jackson, and co-writer and co-producer Ben Langmaid, with Jackson describing their respective roles as “very much a half and half sharing situation… not like a singer producer outfit”, but also recognizing that it often can “look like a solo act”. In an interview La Roux says she is influenced by a lot of 80’s music including David Bowie, early Madonna and Yazoo, but there are a lot of contemporary, mostly European, influencers in her world, who include Justice and other Ed Banger labels.
I am really feeling this La Roux’s edgy vibe and their music makes me want to PARTY!!!!

This is my favourite music album of the year. I love all her songs. La Roux is really number 1.

cool band, cool songs… i just get the feeling the whole 80’s re-visitation will be brief and artists like La Roux will regret having their image so firmly planted in yet another passing fashion statement soon forgotten.

ya i totally feeel that! but at the same time the sound is whats most important, image can change, she is not a super star yet. i think she is on a good track!
