Stella Im Hultberg is raw femininity, sexuality, vulnerability, and reality. Nothing is masked in the faces of her girls; all misery, all troubles are fully evinced. Hultberg’s paintings and drawings cause the viewer to feel for her girls. They are the type of girls that everyone subconsciously desires [male and female alike]. They’ve faces like sombre supermodels but the way their sleepy eyes stare, the way their hands grasp for more, the way their hair falls and rises so freely are what make them so innocently seductive. The girls of Stella Im Hultberg may look as though they are trying to hide away, but they’re not at all. They show you everything everyone should know and appreciate about a woman.
Stella Im Hultberg is of Korean descent, raised in both Asia and America. She initially studied Industrial Design but left that for the fine fine art you just experienced. If interested in seeing her work in person [highly recommended], she exhibits all around the States. Click here for her show dates.

I think this looks like a complete rip off of Audrey Kawasaki.

i'm actually a huge fan of both audrey and stella alike. sure they have similar themes but they differ in style if you compare their work side by side. and, besides, audrey and stella have actually exhibited together and i'm assuming are quite good friends and are respectful and appreciative of one another's work.
