Parisian artist Jeanne Detallante’s work has been featured in some of the most influential print magazines, including Vogue Italia, Vogue Japan, and GQ for her meticulously rendered illustrations. Living in New York for the past few years she has become even more of a global name in the art world. We are clearly fans of her commissioned fashion work that has been circulating the press but it is impossible to over look her other works which highlight her notion of highly developed concepts, like the Identity Thief featured above.
Bringing you the golden whisper of the New York Fashion week runways. Though I can not say I saw anything on the revolutionary tip, I was rather impressed with a handful of collection in their entirety.
I was blown away by the Julian Louie runway, the girls looked like gentle fashion illustrations dressed in perfectly tailored garments made with contrast paneling in a muted and soothing palette. Everything about the presentation was gorgeous. I was immersed in the drama behind the Temperley London girls. The collection and runway presentation carried an undeniable art nouveau chic. Equally bold was the collection of Proenza Schouler which was full of color and tribal inspired frocks. And as a final highlight, I was extremely fond of Ohne Titel’s silhouettes and graphic delivery. There are many other details to pay attention to when scrolling through this review, so look closely at the details.

House of Holland T-shirt design
London based illustrator and stylist Sophie Stephens has a humorous and unique take on today’s fashion and celebrities and no one is spared. Her t-shirts for House of Holland feature illustrations of Brit darling Alexa Chung complete with pumpkin, the witch hat and ivy, Terry Richardson covering himself with a prickly cactus, and Luella, looking rather provocative with arms up and bare chest. Even her final year guerilla art campaign project, entitled ‘Style makes me Sick’ pushed the boundaries. Stephens infiltrated Topshop changing rooms everyday with illustration saying “No More Heroes”, challenging what we think is fashionable and making us rethink how we put celebrities on pedestals. She is a force to be reckoned with! Stephens has done work for various magazines including Love, Fact and Know Magazine, and collaborated with Julian and Noel from The Mighty Boosh to make flyer. Talented Madrileño illustrator Ricardo Fumanal have some pretty strong drawing skills, taking inspirations from fashion magazine and films, he takes images from internet and redraw them with his very own style. After collaborating with a number of studios and art directors, he focused on producing illustrations in varying media and formats. Nikki Farquharson’s mixed media illustrations are stunning ! Between her first ‘Mixed Media Girl’ works and her latest ‘Baby Girl’ series for former Missbehave magazine (shot by TrendLand’s friend Brooke Nipar), The young London based artist has plenty interesting projects in her portfolio, but her kaleidoscopic collages / drawings on photographs are from far my favorites! Looks like mixed media is starting to be more and more popular - After the I want you Magazine series and the Laura Laine beautiful editorial for Muse Magazine – Do we see a trend coming?
