Wow! Paris Fashion Week SS 2010 was jammed packed with goodness, as to be expected from Paris. So many collections, so much detail, and so much range. Paris fashion week managed to combine the strengths of New York, London, and Milan all in one week this round. My favorite collections to narrow it down were Balenciaga, Balmain, Chloe & Celine (i’ll elaborate on the junction with the ~ and percent ~ in a moment), Gareth Pugh, Kenzo, Lanvin, McQueen, and Tim Hamilton. But all the designers and looks featured here were the best of Paris fashion week so open your eyes and enjoy the edit that took days and days to produce. Continue reading below…

As Karl Lagerfeld spent part of his childhood on a farm, it seems only fitting that the Chanel built a version of a Marie Antoinette’s barnyard in the Grand Palais to present his Spring Summer 2010 collection.

The first pics of Lily Allen’s Chanel campaign have finally hit the web – As for the Chanel ads, the black and white shots show Lily looking distinctly Lagerfeld-like, wearing the designer’s signature monochrome hues, fingerless gloves and neat tailoring. Her hair is styled into a neat chignon, and in two shots is adorned with towering tiaras. It was shot by Karl for a new Chanel handbag line, Chanel Coco Cocoon which is slated to launch in October 2009 – See also the Latest fashion editorial of Lily Allen for ID Magazine on Paper Mode

“We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men, too,” founder and president of Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon said today. “Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection – the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!”
The collection has been designed with the clothing in mind first. Shoes and handbags were created to compliment the apparel.

For the 5th day of our WAD Marathon I would like to feature an editorial praising the style and character of Karl Lagerfeld, entitled K as in Karl. Lagerfeld’s style has become an iconic style reference. So much that even his peer, designer Roberto Cavalli came dressed as Lagerfeld for last years Halloween Ball in New York. They did a great job on the casting and styling of this shoot, each character looks like a reincarnation of Lagerfeld. Lovely!

Stay tuned for more of the WAD Marathon as we make our way to Day 6.

For the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Coco Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld designed a special 5 Euro coin. The coin features both a portrait of Coco Chanel and lots of other trademark graphics of the brand. The 5 Euro coin was chosen, as it is a good match with the Chanel No. 5 fragrance.

The coin comes in a gold version, limited to 99 pieces, with each piece going for 5900 Euros. The silver coin goes for 45 Euro and comes in a run of 11900. The coins will be released on December 1rst.
