Carine Roitfeld and Emmanuelle Alt created one of the biggest editorial of French Vogue history: ‘ADN de la Mode‘, shot by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, every single models is present, wearing the key pieces of every single high-end designers, and if you are wonder how they booked everyone ?! ****** “It’s kind of Forties meets Eighties,” the young designer said after his concise runway show. “They are body-conscious clothes, but they also have an emotional element.”
A recipe for fashion stardom, is how I would describe Josep Altuzarra. With his ravishing looks and a sensibility beyond his 25 years, its no wonder his following include Carine and Julia Roitfeld, Julie Gilhart, Vanessa Traina, and Hana Soukupova ~ just to name a few first class fashionistas. The young designer is making the right kind of waves, building up the momentum in a subtle way! I’m sure that working for houses such as Givenchy, Proenza Schouler, and Marc Jacobs have taught the French native a few of his tricks, but his work bears a positively distinctive direction from the work of each of those designers. His monotonous color palette works in his favor to accentuate the intricacy of the construction and draping of this collection and is a great indication of his wisdom as a designer. I am very excited to see whats ahead.

wow wow wow ~ There is absolutely no excuse to avoid picking up The December/January issue of French Vogue. Inside the issue is the most brilliant insert of a 2009 pin-up calender shot by Terry Richardson and styled by Carine Roitfeld. It will be on the news stands for the next 2 months, but do not procrastinate, especially if you are in the US because distribution is limited here. Jourdan Dunn is a sexy nurse, Ali Michael a sexy cheerleader, Eniko Mihalik graces the cover as sexy kitten — Carine even included a spread for the solar months, with patrons saints Alber (Elbaz), Gareth (Pugh), Lara (Stone), and their ilk celebrated

Hi everyone! I’m the new guest blogger at Cyana TrendLand. I’ve had my own fashion blog for almost a year now and I love it. I eat, sleep and breathe fashion, so that’s practically what I’ll be blogging about. I’m a chain smoker, compulsive shopper and I love everything the fashion industry has to offer and I love everything fashionable. There’s not much in this world which I hate, but the mainstream, that I can’t handle. I try to be anything but ordinary. I guess that’s what we all fear isn’t it, to be ordinary?
We can interpret fashion, what we see on the catwalk and in the fashion magazines and make it our own.
Fashion isn’t just what you get served every six months by today’s leading designer houses or what the fashion magazines glorifies. There’s the models, the It girls, the style icons, the celebrities, fashion bloggers and street style blogs who all contribute to shaping, inspiring and defining the fashion industry.
Would you be smoking Marlboro Light if it wasn’t for Carrie Bradshaw? Would you be drinking cappuccinos of paper cups if it wasn’t for Mary-Kate Olsen? Would you be carrying around your newly bought fashion magazine, even though you have a bag to put it in, if it wasn’t for Carine Roitfeld? The truth is that Manolo would’nt necessarily have been such a “common” term as it is today if it wasn’t for the four girls in Sex and the City. They made Manolo Blanik a known and fashionable name.
I certainly won’t smoke any other cigarette but Marlboro Light and if I get the opportunity I would choose Starbucks just so that I could feel a little more fashionable. You would think that a luxurious hand bag and a pair of high heels would do just the trick? Today, the accessories are just as important. Trend objects such as these, often created by celebrities, come and go, but they’ll make us feel some what more fashionable at the time and a few steps closer to the Manolo Blaniks.
I guess we’re all a bit ordinary?
