These beautiful pencil and gauche fashion illustrations were created exclusively for Clear Magazine by Japanese art director and fashion illustrator Masaki Mizuno. In this series the artist interprets looks from some of our favorite top fashion houses including Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Maison Martin Margiela, Miu Miu, Nina Ricci, Givenchy, Prada, Christian Dior, Balenciaga, and Alexander McQueen. As Karl Lagerfeld spent part of his childhood on a farm, it seems only fitting that the Chanel built a version of a Marie Antoinette’s barnyard in the Grand Palais to present his Spring Summer 2010 collection.
So now Chanel is starting to get interested in the web campaigns, and especially for their Coco Cocoon line, after using the help of Lagerfeld and Lily Allen for the AD campaign (here) – They are now spreading this viral Campaign using Trendy Model/Blogger Daul Kim (see blog here) – Im not crazy about this video production, but…

Photographer Doug Rosa needs little introduction, you have seen his work in i Pod, Bulgari, Chanel, Cadillac, Visa and many more product advertisements. I have chosen some of my favorite product shots to feature here. I love the vintage feel of the perfume series which seems to have been shot in water. The series’ palette and blending of colors is almost hypnotizing. His minimalistic products sets shot on white backgrounds are equally captivating though in a very different way than his products shot on black backgrounds which give this halo effect to his subject. For the August issue of Dazed and Confused, photographer Jason Kibbler and stylist Karen Langley, with the help of set designer Gary Card, produced this pretty amazing editorial, inspired by Maria Blaisse work and re-interpreted her sculptural feats – Maria was famous in the 80’s for her revolutionary / futuristic vision. The first pics of Lily Allen’s Chanel campaign have finally hit the web – As for the Chanel ads, the black and white shots show Lily looking distinctly Lagerfeld-like, wearing the designer’s signature monochrome hues, fingerless gloves and neat tailoring. Her hair is styled into a neat chignon, and in two shots is adorned with towering tiaras. We heartily approve the choice of Dutch model Laura Stone for Eres Lingerie Fall/Winter 09-10 ad campaign ! Stone, who is appearing in several spring-summer 2009 ad campaigns including Givenchy, Hugo Boss and Jean Paul Gaultier, is under a one-year contract with Chanel-owned Eres. Yay, Love for Lara !
How cool are these Fashion Cupcakes prop-styled by Lisa Edsalv and shot by Swede photographer Therese Aldgard. As if there weren’t enough tasty treats on the runway, the duo created 5 delicious cupcakes, inspired by Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin, Agent Provocateur and Betsey Johnson. Looks yummy ! They promised to send me some ! From Sweden !? huh (just joking !)
The creative minds at Christian Dior will be releasing a short film (shown below) by renowned director, Olivier Dahan this month . Starring the beautiful, Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose), the film is a self-celebratory tribute to Dior’s sublime Parisian style and the product at the center of the project – The Lady Dior bag. This beautiful 8 minute short is more than an advertising and is the first in a series of four, taking its inspiration from the same kind of short films already released by Chanel, ( featuring Nicole Kidman and Audrey Tautou ). I love that big Fashion Houses explore different mediums and have started to think outside of the fashion conformist box!

French photographer, Isabelle Bonjean has a beautiful portfolio that specializes in Still Life and Beauty. She also shoots very impressive ad campaigns like: Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Absolut Vodka. Her work has been featured in magazines such as Elle, Vogue Japon, Wallpaper, Surface and Citizen K amongst others… Her imagery is refreshing and full of vivid and bright colors. Here is in Exclusivity ( should be released tomorrow: here ) the New commercial called ” Train de Nuit” ( night train ) featuring the New Coco Chanel French actress Audrey Tautou. Directed by Jean Pierre Jeunet (Amelie, Alien 4), the commercial was shot in the famous Orient Express. I love the mix of old movie feeling and new technology with the beautiful Leica M8. Chanel N5 commercial are always wonderful… like the 3 min movie or the infamous one with Estella Warren ( see below little interview and making of )
I am loving these lollipops from Massimo Gammacurta in a rainbow of flavours from Chanel to Yves Saint Laurent. I now know the meaning of being ‘too good to eat’ – Check out his portfolio.
Usually we do not review cars very much, but after the Chanel Fiole, its now time for Mercedes to remake my Dream Car : The 2009 Gullwing-America 300 SL Panamericana. If built, the 2009 300 SL Panamericana from Gullwing-America promises to update the original “with technology from 50 years later.” Wow, what a beauty, Hopefully they will really consider reproducing the mythic Gullwing…
