The visual concept behind the collections of fashion designer Nicolas Petrou is graphically well executed ! His latest presentation of Men collection Petrou\Man during NY Fashion week, which saw models in a plethora of masked jumpsuits with Petrou’s casual tailoring fused with active sportswear. Damien Blottierre Photography/Art

Damien Blottière photography-17Damien Blottière photography-18

Starting as a fashion editor, after finishing fashion school, for Mixte, Purple and Dazed and Confused without a doubt helped photographer Damien Blottiere see images in a different way than his peers. This is not to say that his style can be credited with working at those magazines but rather the undertanding of creating highly dynamic images that tell their own story. Blottiere is fascinated by the study of dimension, which you can seee in almost all his work. He creates his own paper/cardboard characters which become the set and often subject of his photo. Taking even the most simple of photographs Damien Blottiere cuts, pastes, plays with proportions and finishes with something absolutely fantastic. I am very inspired by the energy and sense of humor in his photographs. he is clearly someone who gets the big picture, a place where fashion meets art.

Magnus Unnar shoots Anouck Lepere for Dazed and Confused

Dazed and Confused_AnouckLepere10

Magnus Unnar shoots Anouck Lepere (Belgium model and Jefferson Hack’s fiance) for the October 2009 issue of Dazed and Confused. The shoot is raw and energetic and depicts Anouck playing the role of a lowly intern at a modeling agency. Stylist Joanna Schlenzka seems to love messy backgrounds, muted tones and naughty onesies – and its a winning combination!

The Shoot Factory

shoot factory-space

Founded in 2007 by Jonathan King, after working in advertising as a location booker, is The Shoot Factory, a full-service location agency, representing UK and international properties, studios and venues for TV, film, photo shoots, product launches and events. Most of The Shoot Factory’s locations are occupied homes and businesses, which are rented on a day rate basis to the the agencies clients, which include The Times,
Vogue, Dazed & Confused, Elle, Gucci, Gap, Louis Vuitton, Roche Bobois, Dwell, L’Oreal commercials, Lexus, Heinz, Borbonese, and Secret Diaries of a Call Girl to name a few.

Starting by renting his own home as a set “has proven to be the key to success”,  said King,  “I understand what both parties are looking for, what they dislike and how to advise on suitable work for the home owner and the right location for the client.”

If you are looking for a great location for your next production or just to be inspired for the interior of your new home, The Shoot Factory is a must see destination.  I have been browsing through this site for the last 2 years and have yet to stop checking in for inspiration. Visit the site to peruse through all the different rentals at The Shoot Factory.

Josh Olins Photography

josh Olins-dazed&confused-april09

The young and fierce Josh Olins has been the man behind some of my favorite editorials in the past couple of years. He has made it almost his trademark to capture fashion in groups. Olin’s meticulously precise and visually captivating moments hit their finest tune in his group shots, an extremely difficult note to play.

I didn’t realize at the time that it would lead onto so much more or that I would enjoy it so much. A lot of what I love in photography is composition and what better way to do that than fill your frame with multiple characters.”

I am fascinated with the pool of iconic images he has created at such a young age and eager to see how his career will continue to develop positioning him as one of the most highly in demand fashion photographers. I tried to time this piece with the launching of his website, but it proves time and again that my inspirations can not follow a schedule. We will keep you posted on the launch of Josh Olins’ website, but for now you can peek through some a selection of his work here.

Kattaca: Fashion Stylist

kattaca fashion stylist 600x387 Kattaca: Fashion Stylist

We have referenced the work of Kattaca many times,  especially in relation to photographer Paco Peregrin seen best in the Spain’s Fashion Production Dream Team article – Kattaca works pretty much exclusively with Paco Peregrin and when they work together, you can recognize it from far. The trio definitely have their own style! They like to play with structural fabrics and shapes and an amazing makeup and hair team which helps a lot on the creativity of the outfits. Mario Ville and Carol Gamarra are the genius stylists formerly known as Kattaca.  You can see their work in magazines like Neo2 or maybe Tendencias but it is easily the caliber ( if not above and beyond) of  ID, Surface or Dazed & Confused – Be sure to check out her work at www.kattaca.com it is pretty mind blowing!
