CyanaTrendLand [via Alaia Izabela] provides the first internet leak of CTRL’s SS10 collection. The lookbook is incredibly large [at around 112 pages, no joke] but the colors, styling, photography, and models keep you hungrily flipping right through to the very end. Abundant are subtle acid wash denims in coral and black, as well as cropped and non-cropped jeans in plain black or white for both women and men.

Wow, how amazingly inspirational are the curvy Pin-ups of George Petty ! He was one of the top “cheesecake” illustrators of the 30s and 40s. He began his career with a series of cartoons featuring beautiful girls and their far from handsome beaus. His work coined the term “Petty Girls“ to describe the carefully airbrushed girls with brilliant smiles and sexy poses. SO kitsch and so beautiful, I always deeply loved Pin-ups !

We have been felling this Trend for a while now, and it start happening more and more… Look at the Tim Walker shoot of Lily Donaldson for Vogue UK in March and the Bon Ton Eccentrico for Flair Magazine by Chad Pitman (July 2009) for examples or even the 50s Hollywood Glamor by Steven Meisel. We did a 1950’s Stewardess inspired photoshoot last Monday, you will see the images pretty soon (once I spent hours retouching it…). After a visit from Esquivel owner and designer, George Esquivel, the Vogue girls were enamored by his FW 09/10 Collection of oxfords and got inspired to do a mini story on the best of upcoming oxford’s and the do’s and don’t of wearing each style. Here are the four rules they set before you:
