We saw lots of tie dye and bright colors on the runway for Spring 09, but now I am starting to see lots of tie dye on high end bags. I can’t tell if this looks like an arts and crafts project gone awry or the hottest must have accessory come March. Check out more tie dye dresses and bags here.

A new take on an old classic, I love these Lichtenstein-esque shots. A very well done beauty editorial by Fashion Photographer Mike Ruiz. Ruiz has worked with the likes of Vanity Fair, Flaunt, Conde Nast Traveler, Interview, Paper, Citizen K, Dazed and Confused, Arena, Italian Elle, Spanish and Brazilian Vogue and was a contributor to Dolce and Gabbana’s “Hollywood” book and Iman’s “The Beauty of Color” beauty book. For her third lookbook Nina Nikicio, a Jakarta-born designer, looked for inspiration from some of her favorite bands…Joy Division, The Kills, and Billy Idol. She says she wanted to create a collection that evoked the feeling that a “gritty world is more charming with hints of suppleness” Notice the mixes of suede, satin, lots of black…yet combined with feminine drapery and soft fabrics for a glam, gothic, yet chic look.. I love the purple top and leather skirt.

The Lookbook for Susana Monaco’s Winter collection is simple, chic, yet high detailed. The clothes are lovely as usual but the head wear is what grabs your attention! The black Fleurette hat, the giant blue flower turban, and the top hat are just the beginning, more

The latest editorial from Italian Vogue with Aline Weber photographed by Greg Kadel plays with the ideals of androgyny, femininity, and the punk aesthetic. The tailored clothing, sharp bangs and makeup on the model are offset by feminine backdrops of gardens and charming vintage chairs. I must say bravo Italian Vogue keep putting out such inspiring editorials!

Australian editor turned designer, Kym Ellery, probably learned a lot from her time as market editor at Russh Magazine taking note of what Editors want to see. She translated this knowledge into her on line dubbed Ellery. Elleryland.com just launched featuring a few images of her various lines which exude an urban, rock, chic combination that delivers some uber glam items (particularly those studded leggings). More images here.

Daphne Guinness is a descendant of the Guinness (yes the beer) family… her wikipedia article says “Guinness is prominent in the fashion world as a style icon, journalist and noted collector of Haute couture” .
Probably the best summary you can get, I shop and I write and I wear couture!
Anyway this shoot is the best I have seen in a long time. It looks like an Action-Adventure movie and her hair is amazingly outrageous. Photography by Steve Klein. More of the photoshoot here
