In this exhibition, nature overcomes inanimate objects, resurrecting life and philosophical thought into everyday items.

Pablo Reinoso’s multicultural background means he is interested in discovering links between different cultures. His Argentine heritage of craftsmanship is intrinsic in his work. Reinoso’s design work has the unusual ability of serving everyday human necessity as well as igniting emotion. Exhibition Highlights:

The Spaghetti Bench takes it’s inspiration from the universal park bench “everyone has sat on a bench like this, some have been kissed on one, others have waited for their kid on one, they are common to everybody”.

Reinoso plugs into the consciousness, by twisting the familiar and conjuring up a playful, fantastical alter reality, empowering the wooden slats to resurrect back into swirling, growing live tendrils.

The Spaghetti Bench has an inescapable surrealist influence, with a poetic, elegant repose.

The benches are not only conceptual works but also feats of handcrafted dexterity. Each wooden slat is hand-carved to create the sinuous curve, the human intervention of the manufacture once again triumphs over the straight lines of the traditional park bench.

Martin Margiela collaborated with legendary Italian jewelers Damiani to create these stunning pieces. I love the idea of taking traditional images of jewelry and playing with size to alter their wearability. The ring shape blown up to a bracelet, or the classic studded earring blown up into a necklace charm. Anything that Margiela touches turn to gold, he can do no bad.

I found a concept I introduced yesterday that I told you I was very fond of, so I’m running with it. Convertible shoes seem to be an upcoming trend for the future of footwear. Designers are assuming that a new need for multi-functionality is becoming more of a need or desire and these are a few of their reactions to this need. Designer of  Goodie 2 Shoes, Natalie Thorne has created a very futuristic looking shoe that has an adjustable heel. The height transition is made possible by a quick and easy male and female peg system secured by strong magnets and a hidden hinge.The whole look and feel of the shoe can be altered by the interchangeable plastic uppers. These customisable uppers are attached using snap fixings, which allows them to be easily clipped on and off, replacing them with uppers of different shapes, colours and styles.

So its finally summertime and all I can think is beach. Monday comes and I start to plan what will be the best day to ditch work and hit PCH. Weekends just arent enough! Times really havent changed too much, I mean no matter how old you are and how important your attendance is, there are certain distractions that just cant be helped.

With that said, I have been dreaming about the best summer parties possible. Its pretty tricky because in LA the beach clubs run the resorty catered beachlife to the point that if you are not apart of it you can not eat, drink, smoke, get naked, NOTHING! And what kind of beach day is it if you cant indulge in EVERYTHING!
