I just discovered another amazing artist on Radio Nova, the best radio station in the world. Chromeo has done it again! Another song that’s on repeat on my itunes and an even better video. Directed and illustrated by acclaimed French artist Stephane Manel, “Momma’s Boy” presents Chromeo’s Oedipal-themed love ballad in sleek and surreal black and white animation. Dave & Pee do their best “Piano Man” references, take their girl to the movies, and finish with a dual psychedelic guitar solo that makes this beautiful video a must-see. Stephane Manel is also known for his design work for Serge Gainsbourg and Sebastien Tellier, among others. And lets not forget to give a special sohout out to my girl ZinaStar for getting the role of the girl that Dave takes to the movies.

I just discovered a great young artist on the up in the LES of New York. Collaborating with several other gemstones of New York music scene Samuel has created a sound that is totally sweet and addicting. Samuel dropped his single featuring Wade from The Virgins earlier this year and has been working hard to get his whole album together. He writes his music alone and in joint effort with his producers, The Knocks. Check out his myspace to hear his music and check out his upcoming gigs. “When I first heard Chester French, I felt like I had stumbled upon two geniuses,” says Pharrell Williams, who signed the duo to Star Trak / Interscope records in the Spring of 2007. “It’s been a long time since I’ve heard a project teeming with this sort of musicality and originality,” he continues. “You’re going to watch history unfold with these guys. I feel it in my gut.”

A year ago, Pharrell’s auspicious blessing was only a dream for D.A. Wallach and Maxwell Drummey, both 21-year old Harvard seniors at the time. But when their demo found its way to Kanye West last December, Chester French quickly became one of the most hotly pursued new artists of the decade, attracting offers from Kanye, Jermaine Dupri, Pharrell and Jimmy Iovine. That same demo has become the basis for what will surely be the most talked about debut record of 2008.

Tentatively titled Love the Future, the album was written, arranged, produced and engineered entirely by D.A. and Max in their dorm’s basement. Full of intricately imagined pop songs that fuse lush string arrangements with modern beats, it is the product of lifetimes of music making and listening.

Student James Houston graduating from the Glasgow School of Art’s visual communication course in a few days did this for his final project and a contest that Radiohead held an online to remix “Nude” from their album - “In Rainbows”.
“Nude” is in 6/8 timing, and 63bpm. Most music that’s played in clubs is around 120bpm and usually 4/4 timing. It’s pretty difficult to seamlessly mix a waltz beat into a DJ set.

This resulted in lots of generic entries consisting of a typical 4/4 beat, but with arbitrary clips from “Nude” thrown in so that they qualified for the contest.

Thom Yorke joked at the ridiculousness of it in an interview for NPR radio, hinting that they set the competition to find out how people would approach such a challenging task.

Based on the lyric (and alternate title) “Big Ideas: Don’t get any” he grouped together a collection of old redundant hardware, and placed them in a situation where they’re trying their best to do something that they’re not exactly designed to do, and not quite getting there.

He missed the contest deadline, but its clear after seeing and hearing this that he is no the one missing anything. Utter Brilliance!

SuperAlisa is from a Muslim from Tatarstan (Tatarstan declared independence on August 30, 1990 as a sovereign state and no longer a subject of USSR or Russian Federation), married to the Ahmed. She calls herself “Servant of Allah” and says doesn’t need any producer. She sing in Tatarian ( The Tatars , a Turkish related people from Niznij-Novgorod Russia arrived in Finland by families in the 19th century. The Tatarian language and culture have survived until the fourth and fifth generations while in Russia many Tatars have forgotten the language. There were 939 Muslim Tatars in Finland in 1980. MGMT, formerly known as The Management, is composed of two fine young gentlemen from Brooklyn, NY. Their sound is both distinctive and addicting. As described on their website, MGMT’s album is a collection of “hallucinatory sounds and hook-riddled pop tones for the new millennium.” Their songs have hit the radio pretty hard recently, but if you haven’t already had the pleasure of hearing one of their jams…ch-check them out.

Another amazing Scandinavian artist has emerged. Ladies and gentlemen….El Perro Del Mar. Although she is from Sweden, her slow, sexy music is more reminiscent of the French Serge Gainsborg sound. El Parro Del Mar is currently on tour with Lykke Li and they are in the states RIGHT NOW. They just wrapped up on the east coast and they are heading west. Lindsay Lohan’s new track, Bossy, “leaked” out onto the internet Thursday, I am sure you all cant wait to get your hands on the upcoming Album.

“I wrote it for her because when she’s on her game, you can see these traits in her. When she’s focused, she exudes the aura of a boss with ease,” Ne-Yo explains. “When [producer] Stargate and I were approached with the task, we viewed it as a challenge. ‘Can we make a song for Lindsay Lohan that people were gonna take seriously?’ I think we did it.”

Ne-Yo wrote the synth-heavy dance track with the actress in mind, he tells PEOPLE exclusively.

I just wanted to share with you guys the Justice video for the Stress track that popped up yesterday. A raw indication of what are known as the Racaille, in France, directed by Romain Gavras. The Racaille are the French street rats that live in the projects and run around the city causing any ruckus to be had. Im not really sure why Justice had to endorse this idea but I guess our perceptions of violence are getting more and more screwed up.

Swedish songstress Lykke Li’s time of being an “under the radar” artist is running out. Her sassy hip-shaking dance moves, paired with her sultry girlish voice and use of various odd instruments during performances are getting her recognized all over the world. Most recently in the US. Lykke got a lot of attention this year at SXSW. And since her style is almost as rad as her music, she is, indeed, a music marketer’s dream.
