As sneakers and streetwear do not lend themselves all that well to wine-colored velvet or chandeliers, de Cardenas approached the redesign of the large store with a cold and bold, simplified black-and-white palette. Hard, black-lacquered surfaces, op-inspired patterns, harsh lighting and simplified displays mix with beautiful detailing and white ceilings and floors. - via Cool Hunter

Now they have shut down the location and opened a new flagship store in the Marais district of Paris. In terms of location we see the new store a better fit. Stores are more up scale overall in the area.

Menswear designer John Varvatos describes his new store at 315 Bowery (the old and infamous CBGB ) as a “cultural space” — a generous term for what was once the dirtiest, punkest club in the East Village. Kids looking for where the Ramones played may be surprised by the coats and shoes, but they’ll be somewhat mollified by the pinball machine, the old audio equipment, and the in-store performances. Colette is one of the best shops in Paris. Most people can’t make it all the way to France to stop in for a quick spree, but you can check out this video put together by some wonderful Parisians who want you to love the shop just as much as we do. This is the first video so far, more are promised, and their mission is to showcase their favorite finds inside the boutique as well as a glimpse or two of the inner workings of Collette!

Amongst the saran wrapped tees and plastic lettuce cooler case, NY kids can find ‘a piece of the lifestyle’. DQM crew has a strict eye for street style and nothing but the choice cuts make it past the counter. Part neighborhood base camp, part museum-quality diorama and a dash of actual retail establishment, the DQM hangout is one of the areas most pertinent trademark’s for street style.

From the Opening Party of Silver And Gold And Gold And Silver Pop-Up Store

Joining the increasingly popular pop-up store frenzy, Silver Spoon Attire has opened their first Silver Spoon Attire shop space in London, in collaboration with their friends Real Gold. This short-lived store will be reminiscent of “that place” in early ’90s movies where all the cool ( and un-cool) kids went to hang out. Silver and Gold and Gold and Silver is at 2 Ganton Street, London until Christmas time.

The Billionaire Boys Club opened Tuesday to a warm reception. People waited outside the store to get a sneak peek of the merchandise offered. Though it is closed today for a private party, BBC will open its doors to the public again on Thursday, November 29.

Maybe you weren’t in LA when the Lichtenberg pop-up store began at New High Mart. The opening party was a success, but more importantly this bold experiment in retail marketing is taking off, especially with the recent Paper Magazine 24 Hour Pop up store.

Got there around 1:30 am

…dj going strong…soo many stylish kids smoooooozing with their designer friends who were working…chillen talking fashion crap. I’ve seen all these people….Cobrasnake junkies….Cory Kennedy ofcourse barefoot beggin for a stogi announcing that her cellphone was lost. Not too many people seriosly shopping but i saw a few here and there with bags probably buying rando cheaper stuff kinda like a souvenir. Jeremy Scott was selling pins his interns made earlier of his scrap fabric i assume….im gunna confidently say 3 kinda stoopid pins for $25 was what to buy! Cheap easy recognizable fashion. I did see some other fancy stuff…Hayley bought a feather one of a kind hat tiara thing for 100 bux and saw some people stocking on fruition by Jermey Scott sweaters with bart and sheet…I left for an hour around 3 then came back around 4. Def more mellow…..lots of people outside stoggin…some leftover drunkies dancing weirdo hipster dances outside. Still people inside chilling…not too much action on the shopping front. Seemed as tho it was mostly people working and talking…a few Cobrasnake/Cory Kennedy wannnabees laying maybe even napping on the couches/large ottomans in the entrance…..it was still going at 430 but less new arrivals, then i went home.
