Film has become fashionable now that digital cameras have freed up cheap film cameras to be used for fun and experimenting with different films, techniques, and developing methods.

Coming soon from the film lovers at Japan’s Superheadz, the Blackbird-Fly is a twin-lens reflex camera that fits right into the retro film trend and has great design that would fit right in at a trendy lifestyle store in Tokyo.

Priced at less than $100, these limited edition Rolleiflex lookalikes shoot square images on 35mm rather than 120 (medium format) film, making development costs (and cheap scanning at home) less of an issue.

Desert Boots are where its at. I have been telling you boys since before Fall 07, and I still am not really seeing too much of that look, or at least done well. You need to get your self a sick pair of desert/work boots and go out into the wilderness to break them in. Don’t even think about coming back to civilization before they look and feel just right. After you have accomplished that part of the mission, find the chicest thing in your wardrobe and combine it with that for the ultimate jaw dropper. But no really, a good pair of desert boots can be worn with almost anything.

This style is about mixing the fresh new looks of young upcoming designers dedicated to quality and engineered construction of garments and those key vintage pieces like the Casio databank watch and vintage eyewear.

2008 is particularly exciting in womens designer footwear trends. There are a few re-occurring design concepts such as color blocking, geometry, and the use of patent and suede leather that are dominating factors of this years must have’s. More than ever I feel like shoes are making the outfit, so you don’t need much else to pull the bombshell look off. Powerful shoes for powerful women!

We are seeing a lot of chunky but clean and very sexy wedges, open toe ankle boots and just ankle boots in general, and color patch work as seen in the Prada, Fendi, Pierre Hardy and Louboutin shoes featured above. My favorite Collection of shoes this Spring is definitely the Marni Collection. I could snatch just about each pair and wear them to death.

SHITDISCO ‘OK’

Lot of High Tops for the sneakers, Vans did it as well, but the best for now are definitely the latest Raf Simons kicks ( landed at Oki-Ni, but they’re also available at SPRMRKT in Amsterdam.)

It’s not unusual for trouser legs to get shorter in Summer but this season we’ve seen a profusion of hoisties – trousers which barely skim the ankle.It’s got all the hallmarks of a genuine trend: the fashion forward crowd on the street have been doing it for a while; the more trend focussed designers have adopted it for the catwalk; and its really easy to replicate at home (just buy trousers which are a bit too short or simply roll them up). They work just as well with shoes as with sandals. Wear them with an open-necked loose fitting shirt for that debonair gent on a boating holiday look.
