I just Stumble on the FULL Archive of L’Officiel Magazine, so after the Playboy archive, here you go, for the pleasure of your eyes (and mind) French renown fashion magazine L’Officiel from 1921 to now !
For the August issue of Dazed and Confused, photographer Jason Kibbler and stylist Karen Langley, with the help of set designer Gary Card, produced this pretty amazing editorial, inspired by Maria Blaisse work and re-interpreted her sculptural feats – Maria was famous in the 80’s for her revolutionary / futuristic vision. American artist, Patrick Nagel created popular illustrations on board, paper, and canvas; most of which emphasized the simple grace and beauty of the female form, in a distinctive style descended from Art Deco. He is best known for his illustrations for Playboy magazine, and the pop group Duran Duran, for whom he designed the cover of the best selling album Rio.
Wow! How cool is this 80’s/futuristic style music Video!? The song is not bad either, but the work of the stylist, makeup, director and post production is just sick ! The Band is Called La Roux and they are from England – Check also her Myspace for more info.
Hitting the streets from the underground with ultra 80’s inspiration and schoolyard sensibility Cassette Playa is probably the future big one in the market…Follow them closer…M.I.A and I.D. magazine are just a couple of their big fans already. Still too forward for the US market, with the exception of some NY hipster. Stay Tuned..
