I have been following her for the past few season and she never fails to surprise and impress me with her intricate hand worked poolside swimwear. The muse for this collection seems to have been Brazilian socialite Carmen Mayrink Viega, whose face was printed on a beautiful gold colored silk tunique de plage. Her suits portray the lifestyles of the sexy, rich, and promiscuity through their bold, dark hard lines and the sheer illusions of flesh.

Adriana Degreas is celebrated today as the “Bain Couture designer” from Brazil and is noted for her use of sophisticated cuts and shapes for swim collections adorned with genuine accessories.

Her style mixes the French technique of moulage which creates a worn or antiquing effect on textiles that recalls a 1970’s energy. Ever since she was a young girl playing with fabrics from her parents’ company she has been inspired by her grandmother’s taste for Emilio Pucci, Andre Courreges, Azzedine Alaia and Pierre Cardin and her collections today reflect this heritage.
