Chanel Mobile Art installation
In 1955 Madame Coco Chanel launched the iconic, quilted ‘it’ bag 2.55. Now, fifty-three years later, Chanel have decided to make the bag the center of attention once again, namely the center of a traveling exhibition entitled Chanel Mobile Art. Twenty international contemporary artists have reinterpreted the classic Chanel hand bag and designed everything from a gold quilted guitar-shaped shoulder bag to a giant 2.55 lying thrown on the floor. The exhibition opened in Hong Kong in a futuristic, curved glass pavillion designed by Zaha Hadid, which was the first stop of a two-year world tour, where the artists have smoothened the fine lines between fashion design and art. “We don’t need art, but we cannot live without it,” said Karl Lagerfeld at the opening of Chanel’s Mobile Art pavilion in New York City’s Central Park. The exhibition will move on to cities like London, Moscow and Paris.

The concrete structure’s interior bears the look of a gallery with flat white walls throughout the house. The roof lighting system pulls the airy tall ceilings and flat white walls together and fills the cabin with calming natural light.

This growth trend is similar in most western countries…

The Sydney-based team of Casey brown Architecture abides by principles of lying built form atop of the natural environment, and their house perched above the blue waters of the bay is no exception to the practice. For the James-Robertson House, the architects, who also live on the hillside, employed their local knowledge of climate and topography in the relationship between the natural and the tectonic.

Believe it or not, the humble bathroom/restroom is the new mecca for design. All over the world leading designers are transforming aesthetically pleasing places for people to pee, pooh and, well, be pampered, all in the name of making the daily commute to the restroom a little less dreary. I always loved the restroom / toilets design - kinda kinky
