The young, talented photographer Brooke Nipar has just relaunched her website and this is the third day in a row I go to check out whats on it, so that makes it a must feature for me. I have selected a range of her work that I feel represent her energy and style. Working with Missbehave Magazine as their headlining photographer for the past few years and for other alternative fashion mags like Nylon she has build her self a substantially exuberant portfolio of images featuring pop icons such as M.I.A. and electro-soul sweetheart Lykke Li just to drop a few names. Her image are raw and provocative perhaps drawing inspiration from Terry Richardson.

Now here is a collection full of historic references and inspirations. The Gemma Slack AW 09/10 Collection inspires from so many different cultures, time periods and concepts but somehow they all come together seamlessly on this one platform. For her second collection, Gemma Slack channels Contemporary Armor, using unfinished leather and woven together hardware unconventional for the world of fashion. Her 2 year apprenticeship with Gareth Pugh has without a doubt left a carbon footprint on her very distinct style.
Each piece within in this collection is a reflection of her story. The print she created for this collection is her idea of “digital smoke, reminiscent of burning church thuribles.” The stark sensibility of the collection is beautifully portrayed by photographer Brooke Nipar in these images.
