Band of Outsiders 2009 Fall/Winter Collection Lookbook was shot by designer Scott Sternberg (who recently tied with Calvin Klein’s Italo Zucchelli as the CFDA’s menswear designer of the year) with a sun drenched iconic Polaroid-aesthetic. Sternberg took indie pin-up boy Jason Schwartzman to Chinatown in LA, and the filmic style of the shoot works perfectly with a collection that was inspired by the young idealists from the 1967 film Le Chinois by Jean-Luc Godard. Sternberg has a knack for pouring big names into the smallish pieces that make up his collection; most notably Kirsten Dunst, Marisa Tomei and Sarah Silverman for his Boy by Band of Outsiders women’s line.

As the American Summer wanes, Fall looks have undoubtedly begun to circulate the minds and mouths of the fashion world. Women having the majority of say in purchasing decisions is an undeniable fact, reflected clearly through the following shoot. Supermodels taking hold of this corporate city, embracing well-tailored fitted pieces matched with looser yet structured forms. A black ensemble is set adjacent to a full blown leopard print guise [which one would assume to clash but in fact manages to blend ever so tastefully]. A plain oversized neutral coat is accented with just a tinge of metallic peeking out from beneath and those unexpected silk bunny ears Marc Jacobs got everyone talking about. And, of course, jeweled neck pieces almost overwhelming in size couldn’t hurt either.
