The first of a proposed international chain for the Italian fashion house famed for it’s colorful fabrics and knitwear, open the Missoni Hotel in Edinburgh, UK. The six-story structure at The Royal Mile and George IV Bridge is square in the middle of some of the most breathtaking Old Town architecture.

Their signature Missoni patterns, zig-zags, stripes and bold colors are everywhere from bed sheets to table cloths, everything has been meticulously thought. Read the full story

A nice charity act for the Flora Fauna prints designed by Josh Brill, those pretty limited edition art prints of birds and flowers illustration are sold by little art & design label Lumadessa. And 5% of profits are donated to Animal and Environmental charities.

Focusing on implementing premium materials and production methods. Resulting in timeless works with longer display lives. The word Lumadessa originates from the words luminous meaning ‘light’ and odyssey, meaning ‘a long eventful or adventurous journey’.

Picked up this insane lookbook last year at Creatures of Comfort [and by insane that refers to the cover page photography, styling, and clothing alike]. With collections as ingenious as this, how could anyone ever be unimpressed with the German-born Bernhard Willhelm? He brings us dresses, coats, sweaters, and skirts with extreme volume and layering that manage to flatter with the addition of lines having obviously been lovingly placed with a woman’s body in mind. Bernhard Willhelm’s name is synonymous with the words quirky, adventurous, vibrant, and playful but what makes him so brilliant in his somewhat off-the-wall design aesthetic is the fact that every piece is still very much chic and wearable. It comes as no surprise that this now-Paris-local received the ANDAM Grand Prize as the most promising talent of the new creative scene.

Having only been showing at New York Fashion Week for three years now, little country New Zealand’s big success Karen Walker continues to keep her Northern Hemisphereans on their toes. Past Fall collection themes have included thirties comic book superheroines and Victorian Edwardian meets grunge street. This year Walker presents to us a collection in tune with the current fall of the economy: She’s Cracked. The show was very cleverly ordered starting off with more classic neutral looks with splashes of colored accessories here and there hinting at the trouble to come.

Fall is just minutes away and I cannot wait to start seeing more rich, dark colors on the streets! I love Fall particularly because you can wear so much black, dark navy, and use pops of bright colors creating gorgeous and fun outfits all season long!
Items like the Mischen BOW PIN (which literally you can incorporate into every outfit) are fun accent pieces for the season. Here are some of my favorite black, blue, and white items from La Garçonne that every fashion forward person should have.
