When Fashion Illustration is well executed (drawn) it is ART ! And when an old master like multi-talented/fashion designer Wolfgang Joop, draws it is Art ! Wolfgang opens his new exhibition of fashion drawings in Berlin: an overview of 4 decades of fashion illustrations.

For Wolfgang Joop, art and fashion are most impressive when the objects have the spark of an old master, whom he studied extensively, and possess “an aura of unintentionalness; or the intention to be completely self-satisfied.” The French call this l’art pour l’art.

I Love the bleeding ink and splashes of water color from Stockholm-based illustrator Amelie Hegardt. Definitely a trademark of her gorgeous fashion illustrations. Hegardt is in the same agency as my fav’ fashion illustrator Laura Laine , the Swedish based agency called Darling Management . Unfortunately she does not have a website, but you can see plenty more of her work here.

Chinese Fashion Illustrator Pomme Chan is Born and educated in Bangkok, completed a BA in Interior Design & Graphic Design at the London College of Communication Advertising
After studying she worked in the magazine industry and later became a freelance illustrator – Using her unique felt-tip style and Line drawing Pomme draws inspiration from Architecture, nature, fashion and the curve of the female form. Gorgeous fashion illustration work from Danish artist Mia Overgaard – A wonderful artist originally from Denmark, and trained not only through art school but is a design school graduate too…. She did her work experience with Bettina Bakdal, and is now living in New York City running her own label Miaomiao.

So now, you start to be used to our daily post on Fashion Illustrations.Today’s it’s Finnish Fashion Illustrator Laura Laine, with her girly drawings and very own style… Laura’s work is AMAZING ! Love it – At 24 she has quite a respectable resume, as she has been making the pages of Elle Girl, NY Times T Magazine, Páp Magazine and she just finished a Ad illustrations for Tommy Hilfiger in the British GQ (just to mention a couple) I assume it won’t take long until we’ll see her work in the international fashion bibles…

While I was surfing on some French blogs yesterday, I found this really cool and REALLY French Illustrator – Garance Doré – She’s been working for a while in Paris and apparently she has pretty a BIG fan club – I totally fell in Love for her Illustrations. They are pure, same kind of girl, simple line-drawing and small but well chosen color palettes – If you Like Illustrations like us go check her Blog – Flickr and Facebook – you wont be disappointed !!
