Dookielicious is a Portuguese ‘Studio’ out of Lisbon, ( “if there’s anything that we are sure about it is that the word ’studio’ is not enough to contain everything that Dookielicious is” ) – They develop 3 different brands, with 4 different beautiful flash websites – Here is a review of the nice graphics of Magnificolor, unfortunately we cannot really see the collection well (compare to the full 3d view of their Exoskeleton) but their graphics are pretty powerful (and easy to make) – Their Tripartite concept is “to think / to make / to create” and I like the idea…

This is the work of Swedish photographer Carl Kleiner.
His photography portrays abstraction, glamour, portrait and fashion in imagery. His work is very inventive, the soft tones and colourings are awesome.

Breaking the monotony of the G-Shock revolution in the US, Toy Watch is making a hit with these florescent time pieces. These Italian range watches, ironically dubbed the “Toy Watch” has many more collections within the family name but the FLUO and NEWSTYLE lines look mighty fine. See the entire line here.

Eco fashion might not necessarily sound very cool. But it is. Ethical label
Kuyichi, who design organic, fair trade fashion, have come up with a fantastic a/w 08 collection of denim, jackets and tops.
While Kuyichi first focus on style, evident in the great range of skinny jeans in purple and green, they are equally passionate about the way their clothes are created – organic cotton and fair trade.

Released in 2007, Loic Prigent filmed a documentary that looked into the life of designer Marc Jacobs and his career as creative director at Louis Vuitton. This DVD contains footage from a party in NYC, a press conference in Tokyo and random rants of personal inspiration. It also provides an insight in to the working process of designing goods for Louis Vuitton. It’s interesting to see how similar (and different) the working process that of a fashion designer. Below are three clips from the DVD to get your beak wet as well as a quote from Vogue.

* * *
“Bringing the same intimate insight into the fashion world as his previous acclaimed documentary series SIGNE CHANEL, filmmaker Loïc Prigent focus on Marc Jacobs, called the most influential designer of his generation. This witty portrait follows Jacobs as he balances roles as artistic director of venerable French house Louis Vuitton and his own eponymous American line, in meetings, preparing collections and at high-profile shows. With Naomi Campbell, Sophia Coppola and Uma Thurman. “Artfully told with humor and panache” — Vogue.

If you live in the New England area Fall means one thing, rain. Granted there is gorgeous weather throughout but there is lots and lots of rain. Thankfully we have an array of stylish wellingtons “wellies” for you to brave the fall downpours in, stylishly of course. Here are our favorites!

The Fall “must have” bags include elements of everything we love in trends. Namely fringe, military elements, ruffles, and the shiny black latex look. Givenchy’s East West Military Hobo brings studs to the forefront, Prada’s Napa A Hobo uses ruffles for a more feminine look, Jimmy Choo’s Fringe Hobo is a bit more on the trendy side but I still love it, and finally the Jil Sander diamond bag not available online yet but OMG is it beautiful.
In the meanwhile check out Barneys + Neiman Marcus for more.

These 3 ads were made by TBWA Paris and photographed by Vincent Fournier. I only show you these because of the imagery and the wool clothing. Maybe the art or creative director has a wool fetish.

I’d like to do a Review on Epic Firm, this brand has been around for a year and a half and you will heard more about it really soon with their new collection… Their style is what we can call ” StreetWear Chic ” with some military touch, based in NY, where the design studio is working on the fall/winter 08. You can buy few pieces online at Cyana Boutique and soon in some of the premium shops in the US.

Check out Alexandre Duret-Lutz, a Paris-born photographer who uses his Pentax K10 to focus on spherical panoramas and Escheresque spirals. His photos have got a beautiful, mathematical style to them, ( not that i’ve figured out the equation though!) and each time I look at them, my eye finds something it did not see the first time around.

FotoDecadent, a cool website where you yourself can post avente-garde fashion photography. The most important rules are no amateur pics, no advertising, and no pics that don’t have to do with fashion.

Philips is going through a complete makeover. I used to think Philips was just another t.v. company, but you must visit their Design Probes Project, the aim of understanding lifestyle post 2020. One of their cool projects ( in addition to projects concerning tattoos and jewelry) is called Skin: Dresses “which examines the future integration of sensitive materials in the area of emotional sensing – the shift from ‘ intelligent’ to ‘sensitive’ products and technologies.” These Bubelle dresses are composed of two layers, the inner layer has biometric sensors that pick up a person’s emotions and projects them in colors onto the second layer, the outer textile. The dress also changes color according to our emotional state. Like a mood ring, but a mood dress.
The shift from intelligent to sensitive…really interesting concepts they are playing with at Philips. Yes, the way we dress is first and foremost dictated by our mood and Philips is taking our emotive dressing to a future level. Susie Bubble ( whom I adore for her camera-in-her-face-as-she-styles-outfits-btw Happy Birthday Susie!!!) asks “Do I want everybody in the world watching me feel either elation, embarrassment, anger or attraction as I swan around in this Bubelle dress on the streets…”
I agree with her, I definitely don’t need the world to know how moody I really am, BUT conceptually I love what Philips is doing to blend fashion and technology, an area that we are seeing merge more and more.
