shoot factory-space

Founded in 2007 by Jonathan King, after working in advertising as a location booker, is The Shoot Factory, a full-service location agency, representing UK and international properties, studios and venues for TV, film, photo shoots, product launches and events. Most of The Shoot Factory’s locations are occupied homes and businesses, which are rented on a day rate basis to the the agencies clients, which include The Times,
Vogue, Dazed & Confused, Elle, Gucci, Gap, Louis Vuitton, Roche Bobois, Dwell, L’Oreal commercials, Lexus, Heinz, Borbonese, and Secret Diaries of a Call Girl to name a few.

Starting by renting his own home as a set “has proven to be the key to success”,  said King,  “I understand what both parties are looking for, what they dislike and how to advise on suitable work for the home owner and the right location for the client.”

If you are looking for a great location for your next production or just to be inspired for the interior of your new home, The Shoot Factory is a must see destination.  I have been browsing through this site for the last 2 years and have yet to stop checking in for inspiration. Visit the site to peruse through all the different rentals at The Shoot Factory.

Take a peek into the home of designer Max Azria. There are elements that I am a big fan of, I especially love the balance of warm and cold vibe throughout the different spaces. Look closely at the extravagantly gold leafed ceiling in one room and the strange textured ceiling in what seems to be the entrance. Would you live there?

The Showtime House: For TV Fanatics

Tags: , , , , , , , , , ,

Showtime Networks and Metropolitan Home have joined forces to present The Showtime House. They redesigned this $20 million Gramercy Park brownstone into “a beacon of modernism inspired by six Showtime original series,” set to unveil in September. The Showtime House is a perfect example of the kind of collaborations that we will probably start to see in this economy. Collaborations have been growing more and more popular but they have been few and rare on this scale, and what a brilliant marketing stunt! The interior desiners will be drawing inspiration from Dexter™, Californication, The Tudors, Weeds, The L-Word® and United States of Tara to create these spaces. Below is my favorite.

New Concept: Light-Emitting Wallpaper

wallpaper 51 New Concept: Light Emitting Wallpaper

As if Wonderland Wallpaper isn’t fun enough, I stumbled upon a delightful light-emitting invention from product designer Jonas Sampson. The paper will contain LED lights in any conceivable design. The concealed light display turns on a few moments after a person enters the room.

Not to get mushy on you, but how romantical could this get? Imagine an entire hotel suite lit up like the galaxy, a princess castle for a little girl or a safari adventure trapped in the wall a’la Jumanji. What about a freaky haunted house where decaying corpses flash for only a split moment? Or if you could choreograph several different circuits of LED, you might create a glowing animation (for the record, that’s my ingenious concept.)

German design mind Tom Hanke at Surrielien will custom-warp your wallpaper around art, lamps, doors and architecture details. The psycho-tropic results have a deliciously Dali appeal. However, one may hesitate to hit the hookah too hard in your newly striped room…

The ‘Saint Honoré’ collection of wallpapers is resolutely modern, and is the result of a collaboration between the design firm Ugly Edition and young contemporary artists.

The ‘Contemporary Collection’ reflects a desire to present new graphic designs created exclusively for ‘Saint Honoré’ by Phillipe Rossetti and Simon Pillard, working together under the ‘Munchausen’ name.

Throughout their work, Munchausen touches us with their dreamlike world and their desire for wonderment, as well as by their ability to take age-old symbols towards perversion and slide them delicately into poetic images.

Their ‘Clouds’ motif received a special prize from the jury at the ‘WallpaperLab’ exhibition at the Paris Decorative Arts Museum in November 2006.

Cavern For Wallpaper and Interior Design

Started by Carly Margolis and Ophir Tanz, Cavern was a life-long dream by two design-oriented friends who saw a need for an industry renaissance in interior design. The two aim to bring abstracted natural elemnts into urban spaces, and the designs are all inspired from the natural world and clean lines of mid-century modern architecture. At the top is the Cavalry wallpaper. From afar, it looks very graphic and stylized. However, the pattern seen is actually 2 mirrored horse heads.
