Almost a year ago we introduced you the Light Graffiti with German crew Lichtfaktor – It looks like its getting more and more popular, since a lot of street artist are now playing with this technique and the result is often stunning. LIFE photographer Gjon Mili visited Picasso in 1949. Mili showed the artist some of his photographs of ice skaters with tiny lights affixed to their skates jumping in the dark—and Picasso’s mind began to race. The series of photographs that follows—Picasso’s light drawings—were made with a small flashlight in a dark room; the images vanished almost as soon as they were created. [via LIFE]

Patrick Rochon is a Light Painting Master – his amazingly stylized and visually complex photography is created by using lasers to illuminate his subjects in ways that create an eerie, otherworldly feel in the finished portraits. Patrick has also taken light painting to a whole new level by building costumes of lights and performing light painting on a giant screen to create a unique visual experience.
