The house of holland AW09 collection can be described as nothing but stripey! Taking last seasons “colour blocking” Holland has made this the theme of the latest collection and is constant throughout! Jumpsuits Fur and buttons are present as seen in other catwalk shows! His pastel colours are completely effective in a gradient stripe from head to toe – everything from black to green and in between!!

Beautiful sheer chiffon’s are cut by strong, contrasting velvet construction pipelines which take us on a graphic maze of Christopher Kane’s journey of female anatomy. More concentrated than ever in his FW 09 collection Kane continues to deliver each new collection as his best. As I opened British Vogue to review his new collection from London Fashion Week, some feeling of relief came over me as I thought after seeing the first two looks that there may be some criticism to make. I was, however, happy to discover with in a few clicks that I was wrong and his genius continues to leave me dumbfounded, but more so than anything gives me this positivity about the new wave of fashion that my words have not graduated to describe.

Architect Zaha Hadid is the latest creative to collaborate with famous Brazilian plastic shoe brand Melissa. Hadid’s design was revealed exclusively at London Fashion Week this autumn. Not surprisingly, her £200 special edition is as sculptural and moulded as her buildings. And as exclusive – the shoes are only available at London’s Dover Street Market.

The British Fashion Council today announces that designers Christopher Kane, Erdem, Marios Schwab and Roksanda Ilincic have been chosen to receive British Fashion Council Fashion Forward sponsorship.
The scheme, established two years ago, provides financial support to UK-based designers who are in the early stages of developing their business and have already established a profile at London Fashion Week. The award, partly supported this season by the London Development Agency, consists of a substantial cash prize, to be used towards producing an on-schedule catwalk show at London Fashion Week, and has been previously won by Giles Deacon, Jonathan Saunders, Richard Nicoll, Jens Laugesen and Sinha-Stanic. Christopher Kane, Erdem and Marios Schwab are all being awarded Fashion Forward sponsorship for the first-time. Roksanda Ilincic is a recipient for the second time.
