Continuing with the pop-up store phenomenon that we seem to be in the midst of,Louis Vuitton has teamed up with Japanese retail brand Seibu (info), in opening a temporary outlet in Seibu’s gigantic Ikebukuro department store in Tokyo – The Louis Vuitton/ Underground/ goes with a raw and industrial look and is completely different in terms of interior than other Vuitton spaces. LOUIS VUITTON underground is a concept store, and will only be running for a limited period of time…
I have always been a super fan of all the Tsumori Chisato campaigns. The color and ethnicity are always captured and magnified in their vibrant campaigns of which Surface to Air Paris has been the guiding creative light since 2005. Surface to Air is the iconic boutique creative collective in my eyes. They touch base on all things fashion, graphics, photography, design, music, and films while continuously building the team and spectrum. Surface to Air is a hyper product of today’s creative world; interested in everything that makes the eye spark and experimenting with all mediums to execute the highest of visual sensations. If you haven’t had the chance to see the Louis Vuitton flagship pop-up installation wrapping job up for the holiday season, its not to be missed. The Fifth Ave storefront was wrapped in Murakami’s iconic Monogram Multicolor print last month.

We wanted to do something that was festive and exceptional, but at the same time true to the brand. Sean Connery stars in a new Louis Vuitton ad, photographed by Annie Leibovitz on a beach near his home in the Bahamas, the iconic actor is propped on a wooden dock next to a waterproof version of Vuitton’s Keepall bag. Such is Connery’s natural elegance, the photo Leibovitz submitted was actually a test, before he was handed over to the hair and makeup crews, Antoine Arnault, Vuitton’s director of communications said. “In this case, we had the opportunity to work with a legend,” he added. “He’s been on our list for a very long time.” Pretty Sick Sean !! Released in 2007, Loic Prigent filmed a documentary that looked into the life of designer Marc Jacobs and his career as creative director at Louis Vuitton. This DVD contains footage from a party in NYC, a press conference in Tokyo and random rants of personal inspiration. It also provides an insight in to the working process of designing goods for Louis Vuitton. It’s interesting to see how similar (and different) the working process that of a fashion designer. Louis Vuitton held a contest a Central St. Martins for 2007 Christmas window display. The winning entry’s designs must feature the product and be compatible to the different store sizes of the LV windows around the world. Marcos Villalba and Christopher Lawson won with their Latitude 48,914/Longituude 02.286. Their idea was inspired by the area around Asnieres, where the original Vuitton workshop is based. The design was a topographical map, made from layers of Balsa wood. Latitude 48,914/Longituude 02.286 will be displayed in Paris, Hong Kong, and New York.
