Lykke Li : Knocked Up Rodeo Mash Up

I just saw Kings of Leon play at Madison Square Garden this past weekend. As always, they were great live. But every time I see them play, I observe this fact: the song “Knocked Up” is absolutely epic live. Its an epic song all around. I mean every time he sings the line “people call us renegades, we like livin crazy”, with that sharp guitar noise accompanying it, I get the chills! So no surprise that my favorite girl Lykke Li had similar thoughts. She decided to cover the song, and as would be expected from anything she does, its great. Have a listen.

Another amazing Scandinavian artist has emerged. Ladies and gentlemen….El Perro Del Mar. Although she is from Sweden, her slow, sexy music is more reminiscent of the French Serge Gainsborg sound. Swedish songstress Lykke Li’s time of being an “under the radar” artist is running out. Her sassy hip-shaking dance moves, paired with her sultry girlish voice and use of various odd instruments during performances are getting her recognized all over the world. Most recently in the US. Lykke got a lot of attention this year at SXSW. And since her style is almost as rad as her music, she is, indeed, a music marketer’s dream.
