Once again Louis Vuitton collaborate with Artist Stephen Sprouse, after the success of the graffiti collection in 2001, Louis Vuitton and Sprouse recreate the graffiti print but this time on many more items : bags, sneakers, shoes, sunglasses as well as some clothing and some more accessories… Personally I dont like it too much, only the bags are cool, but the collection (especially the sneakers) are little bit passé , I mean its my personal taste – also the Marc Jacobs nude shot by Terry Richardson for for Harper’s Bazaar’s January issue are, let’s say… pretty powerful ! To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Marc Jacobs Mouse flats, Marc teamed up with KAWS to produce a super limited run of these amazing shoes (only 200 pairs worldwide!). Colette, Original Fake and Marc flagship stores (US & London) are carrying them.Hopefully they still have it, because it were released on September 29th. ( sorry for the late news :s )
Released in 2007, Loic Prigent filmed a documentary that looked into the life of designer Marc Jacobs and his career as creative director at Louis Vuitton. This DVD contains footage from a party in NYC, a press conference in Tokyo and random rants of personal inspiration. It also provides an insight in to the working process of designing goods for Louis Vuitton. It’s interesting to see how similar (and different) the working process that of a fashion designer. Below are three clips from the DVD to get your beak wet as well as a quote from Vogue.

“Bringing the same intimate insight into the fashion world as his previous acclaimed documentary series SIGNE CHANEL, filmmaker Loïc Prigent focus on Marc Jacobs, called the most influential designer of his generation. This witty portrait follows Jacobs as he balances roles as artistic director of venerable French house Louis Vuitton and his own eponymous American line, in meetings, preparing collections and at high-profile shows. With Naomi Campbell, Sophia Coppola and Uma Thurman. “Artfully told with humor and panache” — Vogue.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America held its annual award gala for womenswear on June 2, 2008 at the New York Public Library. See who won and who presented the designers with their awards.
Above is the new Georgio Armani cell phone ad. Agyness Deyn is the model in the picture, but doesn’t she look alot like Christy Turlington? She looks great, but she also looks ten years older. Amazing what makeup can do, since Agyness Deyn looks nothing like herself in the ads.
Ad season is coming up, and I’m excited to see some beautiful fashion campaigns. Quick update, M.I.A. is the face for Marc for Marc Jacobs and Olga Sherer is the model for the Lanvin ads.
Marc Jacobs held his Christmas Costume Party at the Rainbow Room in New York City on Wednesday night. His get-up? MJ came as a camel toe. Brilliant!
For Spring 2008, the next celebrity faces to head fashion campaigns are Jennifer Connelly for Balenciaga, Kirsten Dunst for Miu Miu, and Victoria Beckham for Marc Jacobs.
Jennifer Connolly still looks exactly the way I remember her in The Rocketeer, and that was 17 years ago!
At Cyana Lab,we’ll be looking at pics of Marc online and at his last show and we’re thinking ” What happened to Marc?” The change in his physical appearance has left most of us confused. Gone are the days where MJ wore oversized clothes, had long greasy hair, wore big glasses all because he hated how he looked. Nowadays, he’s got a new, hard gym body to showcase his new tan.
Seems he’s pretty aware of the all speculation. After reading the NY Times article, it seems like he doesn’t care what others think. Ultimately what makes him successful is that he’s gonna do what he wants to do. Or it may be because, as confessed by Jacobs,” In the most basic way I can say it,” he said, re-lighting a cigarette, “coming from a psychological place, what I love more than anything is attention. That is about as honest of a statement that I could possibly make. I want a reaction, because I want the attention.”
The Darjeeling Limited Marc Jacobs and Wes Anderson
The Darjeeling Limited has been a well-received movie these days, and I just read in the La Times that the movies’ quirky, polished look was a colloboration with Marc Jacobs and the director Wes Anderson. Anderson’s movies have a distinct style, just as he has his own, personalized look ( shrunken suits). These two trendsetters teamed up for new look, and the next time you watch the movie on dvd, take a closer look at the wardrobe.
