Rumour has it that Anna Wintour is concidering retirement! According to the New York Post her contract is about to expire and “she’s so tired out and she feels she’s done it all and had enough”, says a source to the Post. Not only has she run Vogue US for twenty years, but she additionally oversees Teen Vogue, Fashion Rocks and Men’s Vogue, which just recently got cut down to only two issues a year due to budget cuts at Condé Nast. This might be why the rumours of Anna Wintour leaving is flourishing on the internet or maybe there’s more to it?
I honestly don’t know what to believe. I certainly don’t believe that she’s is the kind of woman to leave her masterpiece without it being perfectly done. I think she’s the type who’d want to leave on top of her career. I just can’t picture Fashion Week without Anna Wintour in front row with her characteristic sunglasses places on her nose. It all seems too strange to me, but then again, change isn’t necessarily a bad thing, is it? However, if it’s true, it would definitely cause a commotion within the world of fashion and there will be some major questions to be answered. Who would replace her? What would she do without Vogue? And, will anyone ever exceed the expectations there is to being the next Anna Wintour?
