OH yes ! Jo can draw !! I am pretty amazed by the work of Jo Ratcliffe aka Jocandraw – She have such an amazing style, I’m in LOVE !
Jo studied illustration at Central St. Martins, after graduation followed a stint at Hasbro (toy manufacturers) where she began drawing Sindy for Marvel comic. Self taught with photoshop & Illustrator, she developed her very unique style: never two job look the same !
An other mixed media Artisy, digital post production, retouching, multi image merging, effects and manipulating scenes, there is pretty much nothing that Atomic Attack don’t do. Founded in 1997 by owner Calvin Ho, he worked for prestigious clients such as Cartier, Harper’s Bazaar, Levi’s, Nokia and Wired amongst others. An other beautiful mixed media illustrator/graphic designer, Brazilian born and Los Angeles based Douglas Alves have some stunning images in his portfolio, a 26 years old self-taught graphic designer who worked already for some prestigious company like Coca-cola, Mtv, Microsoft and Honda amongst others… I like a lot the fact that he’s showcasing his work in large format – You should definitely check his nice flash website: www.nacionale.net and his Behance
Nikki Farquharson’s mixed media illustrations are stunning ! Between her first ‘Mixed Media Girl’ works and her latest ‘Baby Girl’ series for former Missbehave magazine (shot by TrendLand’s friend Brooke Nipar), The young London based artist has plenty interesting projects in her portfolio, but her kaleidoscopic collages / drawings on photographs are from far my favorites! Looks like mixed media is starting to be more and more popular - After the I want you Magazine series and the Laura Laine beautiful editorial for Muse Magazine – Do we see a trend coming?
I really like this tribal mask-like series illustrated by Indian-born Illustrator Nina Chakrabarti . The series below was made for the free artsy US/Seattle based magazine, I Want You. (issue 2 coming in October)
We already reviewed last December, the amazing work of Finnish Fashion Illustrator Laura Laine but she just did an AMAZING editorial for Italian fashion/art magazine Muse – See for yourself ! I just love how she incorporated her beautiful illustrations into those nice Product Shot !
