Picked up this insane lookbook last year at Creatures of Comfort [and by insane that refers to the cover page photography, styling, and clothing alike]. With collections as ingenious as this, how could anyone ever be unimpressed with the German-born Bernhard Willhelm? He brings us dresses, coats, sweaters, and skirts with extreme volume and layering that manage to flatter with the addition of lines having obviously been lovingly placed with a woman’s body in mind. Bernhard Willhelm’s name is synonymous with the words quirky, adventurous, vibrant, and playful but what makes him so brilliant in his somewhat off-the-wall design aesthetic is the fact that every piece is still very much chic and wearable. It comes as no surprise that this now-Paris-local received the ANDAM Grand Prize as the most promising talent of the new creative scene.
Kanye’s collab with the Louis Vuitton Spring 09 line called “Kanye LV” stepped out in Paris on Thursday. The monochromatic beauties are just the kind of low-pro steeze expected from the K; of course he had to throw the little Louis flowers at the sole. Not sure what’s going on in the back with the oversized tabs? A take on a floppy hiking boot? – -LalaBlahBlah

When I’m crawling through the desert, dying of thirst, the first thing I think of is not water, not soda, but canned champagne! No joke though, Paris Hilton has her own champagne in a can called Rich Prosecco, which will be introduced next year.
Years ago, I laughed at the idea of boxed wine. Now I’ve got canned champagne. Why not, right?

Hedi Slimane, the man who used to head Dior Homme, but more importantly, the man whose razor-thin black suits revolutionized menswear, is now heading his own photography exhibit “Perfect Stranger.” His exhibit opened yesterday in Paris at Galerie Almine Rech and will feature Hedi’s explorations with “vaporous abstractions.”

An anonymous French street artist who was amongst those who pioneered the French street scene, Zevs began his work in the early ’90s as a tagger. By the end of the ’90s, he was most known for his poetic drawings of shadows in Paris, as well as “bombing” models on billboards between the eyes. Japanese and Paris based duo Kaito Hori ( from Balenciaga) and Iku Furduate ( Central St. Martins) are on the fashion radar. Their spring line is structurally strong, where they use “picot,” a dated form of edging where thread is sewn in zigags to allow movement and fluidity. Since their launch in 2005, Commuun Duo has already won an LVMH award for ANDAM 2007. Think Future Classics.
