I was standing at the Magic trade show two years ago, taken back at the lack of creativity and development of certain clothing brands. To my left was all-over print t-shirt company with shirts resembling a box of crayons symbolically melted with no creative direction, while to my right were diamond bedazzled shirts summing simple t-shirt to feel like a wet rag draped over a body. Debonair Magazine posted The Most Controversial Ads in Fashion History. Sex, advertising, and fashion have always been intertwined, but it’s interesting to see how ads continue to challenge the industry’s level of acceptance. American Apparel is really leading the way, with there ads continuing to make my jaw drop. ( Have you not seen their billboard with the girl bending over in a full length jumpsuit and no panties? )
