Los Angeles artist and musician Marnie Weber taps the dark side of Brother Grimm (if that is possible) with her photo collages and costumes. Using a semi-regular cast of costumed animal and human characters, Weber shares the dark wonderland of her subconscious. Over the span of 20 years her series of videos, collages, sculptures, music and performances elicit the uneasy vulnerability and eeriness conveyed by classic folklore tales.

Nick Van Woert is an amazing sculptor from NY – His work is just amazing and pretty unique…Nick is a 2007 graduate of Parsons MFA program and winner of the 2007 International Sculpture Center Student Award, creates sculptures that, like his impression of culture, result from “the pressure to produce, acquire and abandon consumable goods and information.” – Those are just beauties ! Sculptor Silvia B. does it again with an installation by the name of Les beaux et les plus beaux, a group of masked boys clad in white who are depicted playing with their white toys. From a distance, the figures appear attractive, yet a closer look reveals some aspect that leaves the viewer slightly uncomfortable. The exhibition is held at the GEM Museum of Contemporary Art in The Hague. Fairytale or nightmare?
