Flaunt Magazine does a beauty feature each month. For Issue 97 they invited our friend and client (PG – Plain Gravy), Tofer to bring his flavor to the book. A few weeks ago Flaunt sponsored “Vivid”, Tofer’s art opening at the Commissary Art Gallery showcasing all his newest works. The beauty editorial featuring C.C. Sheffield of Le Rev, was a collaboration between Photographer Mathu Anderson and Painter/Artist Tofer who took Andersons photos and collaged them into his paintings, painted over them creating an environment for C.C. inside his work.Tune in as C.C. prepares to release her double disc album, Golden Grime. VENICE, CA—Tofer Chin’s latest exhibit “VIVID” is a neon explosion of potent energy in the abstract form of phalluses, yonic symbols, and copulation. Departing from the style of his earlier works, Chin uses the language of Op-art and the street to describe a world of electronic psycho-sexual energy. The titles of the works, some derived from Aphex Twin songs, draw us into an underground world of limitless experimentation and drug-induced hallucinations, while electro clash bursts from the speakers on the dance floor. This, ‘explosion’ of energy comes to us in the work from Chin’s neon palette with which he
carves out objects that are carefully layered atop surging black and white planes.

TOFER OPENS HIS INSTALLATION AT THE HUNDREDS SHOP AND BLOWS OUR MIND WITH HIS SERENE AND SO WELL EXECUTED TRANSPORTATION OF TIME AND PLACE. THE INSTALLATION IS JUXAPOSED WITH HIS BEAUTIFULLY SUBTLE CLOUD PRINTED T-SHRITS. IT WAS A GREAT EXPOSITION OF ARTISTIC PROCESS. IT T OOK TOFER TWO WEEKS TO COMPLETE HIS INSTALLATION AND IT WILL BE UP FOR TILL JUNE, SO BE SURE TO STOP BY THE HUNDREDS AND CHECK IT OUT.
