What do you think Streetstyle photography is for? It is not only to see who is where and who wears what, but to analyze trends. In the past few years, but more specifically in the last year, streetstyle photography has been booming during Fashion weeks, from Paris to London, New York to Milan, now you have more photographers outsides the runways than inside…

It all started with celebrity streetstyle photographer The Sartorialist aka Scott Schuman who started to showcase his street finds on his blog in September 2005, and then… the others followed… Paparazzi of the unknown, they shoot models, editors, stylists or random people who have good or interesting style. All those pictures are called ‘Data’ in the trend world, data to analyze and read what’s coming next : details, colors, prints, cuts, accessories, ways of wearing, every single details is important. Trends agencies (like TrendLand’s friend FashionSnoop) have their own photographers traveling the world to shoot what’s cool and hot for the future seasons. And you can be sure that all those photographs are analyzed by all the designers from Marc Jacobs to H&M…I have compiled some cool shots from this Paris Fashion Week for your right here. So can you read the Trends?

Sheer Trend, Transparency Trend or See-trough Trend is hot for this summer ! Sheer fabric is certainly nothing new, but this Spring’s looks gave way to downright see-through fabrics. Although some of the sheerness can be layered away. When styled in the correct way it can be very feminine and sexy, yet quite demure at the same time. Since this trend is all about the fabric, there is multiple ways of wearing it: tight sheer pieces, layers, pretty tops, floaty dresses and coats, to just a simple piece around the neck or on your arm. So Have fun in Sheers !

Early ’90s grunge makes a chic, Empire Records-style comeback …

I loved this Fashion Spotlight from Elle portraying the hottest young stars in Empire Records-early 90’s style. It is always fun to channel the teenage style because there are no preconceptions of what works and what doesn’t so it gives the stylist the liberty to mix and match things you would not in other editorials. The teenage/over-layered style is often a large indicator of upcoming trends. And who other to style this shoot than 90’s ambassador Erin Wasson.

Fashionable Habits
Hi everyone! I’m the new guest blogger at Cyana TrendLand. I’ve had my own fashion blog for almost a year now and I love it. I eat, sleep and breathe fashion, so that’s practically what I’ll be blogging about. I’m a chain smoker, compulsive shopper and I love everything the fashion industry has to offer and I love everything fashionable. There’s not much in this world which I hate, but the mainstream, that I can’t handle. I try to be anything but ordinary. I guess that’s what we all fear isn’t it, to be ordinary?
We can interpret fashion, what we see on the catwalk and in the fashion magazines and make it our own.
Fashion isn’t just what you get served every six months by today’s leading designer houses or what the fashion magazines glorifies. There’s the models, the It girls, the style icons, the celebrities, fashion bloggers and street style blogs who all contribute to shaping, inspiring and defining the fashion industry.
Would you be smoking Marlboro Light if it wasn’t for Carrie Bradshaw? Would you be drinking cappuccinos of paper cups if it wasn’t for Mary-Kate Olsen? Would you be carrying around your newly bought fashion magazine, even though you have a bag to put it in, if it wasn’t for Carine Roitfeld? The truth is that Manolo would’nt necessarily have been such a “common” term as it is today if it wasn’t for the four girls in Sex and the City. They made Manolo Blanik a known and fashionable name.
I certainly won’t smoke any other cigarette but Marlboro Light and if I get the opportunity I would choose Starbucks just so that I could feel a little more fashionable. You would think that a luxurious hand bag and a pair of high heels would do just the trick? Today, the accessories are just as important. Trend objects such as these, often created by celebrities, come and go, but they’ll make us feel some what more fashionable at the time and a few steps closer to the Manolo Blaniks.
I guess we’re all a bit ordinary?

The Hilarious Jack Spade has created a limited edition moustache glove celebrating colette’s arrival to NYC with GAP. The glove features an American-style moustache on one hand and a french-style in the other hand ya know with the ends up?
This will make for some fun polaroid pics! Moustaches are perhaps the new animal masks in fashion photography?

Fall is just minutes away and I cannot wait to start seeing more rich, dark colors on the streets! I love Fall particularly because you can wear so much black, dark navy, and use pops of bright colors creating gorgeous and fun outfits all season long!
Items like the Mischen BOW PIN (which literally you can incorporate into every outfit) are fun accent pieces for the season. Here are some of my favorite black, blue, and white items from La Garçonne that every fashion forward person should have.

My Prediction for Fall Shoes is that there is going to be a lot of buckles, bows, and variations on last year’s trends ( ie. oxfords, ballet flats, and gladiators).
All the shoes are available at Shopbop.com

First it was black nails, now Lancôme has announced the limited release of their Piha Black Lipgloss as well as a rouge (set to make your lips look vampishly dark as in the picture below).

Only 500 of the sets will be available in the U.S.A, exclusively at the Bloomingdale’s 59th Street location and 5 other soon to be announced locations. The waiting list is available call 212-705-2886 to add your name! Or you can wait for Yves Saint Laurent who is also releasing a limited edition lipgloss, Black Pur, a “cosmetic jewel that turns lips into a spectacular fashion statement.” Could we start seeing more Dita Von Teese’s roaming the streets?

If you live in the New England area Fall means one thing, rain. Granted there is gorgeous weather throughout but there is lots and lots of rain. Thankfully we have an array of stylish wellingtons “wellies” for you to brave the fall downpours in, stylishly of course. Here are our favorites!

The Fall “must have” bags include elements of everything we love in trends. Namely fringe, military elements, ruffles, and the shiny black latex look. Givenchy’s East West Military Hobo brings studs to the forefront, Prada’s Napa A Hobo uses ruffles for a more feminine look, Jimmy Choo’s Fringe Hobo is a bit more on the trendy side but I still love it, and finally the Jil Sander diamond bag not available online yet but OMG is it beautiful.
In the meanwhile check out Barneys + Neiman Marcus for more.

Almost every fashion trend is a throwback of some kind. However, I have been noticing some extreme character throwbacks. For instance, Lou Doillon channeling the Artful Dodger as well as more than just a few lovelies such as Coco Rocha + Milla Jovovich channeling Cat Woman whose latex costume was made famous by Julie Newmar. Who’s next? Minnie Mouse? oh wait, too late.
