Telepathe : Michael

telepathe debut album Song of the Day : [2/22]

Telepathe recently released their debut album ‘Dance Mother’ on I Am Sound Records. It is produced by David Sitek, of Tv on the Radio, and it perfectly captures the sound they set forth with last years single “Chrome’s On It”Telepathe.  Avante garde, atmospheric beats and airy vocals make for a record that’s at different times haunting, pretty, and futuristic. “In Your Line” and “Can’t Stand It” are two of the albums stand-outs, but “Michael” is the hero for me. Dark and morbid lyrics like “My greatest joy would be to destroy you” and “I want to wish you suffer violently” contrast wonderfully with the song’s blissful beat.

“Music is the most flexible medium in the world for me,” explains Sitek, the beat conductor responsible for distilling the band’s tracks down to a living, breathing composition that’s never cloying or cumbersome. “There is no shortage of ideas; the hard part is not following each whim.”
