Todd Selby is an incredible photographer who goes inside the homes and studios of artists, designers and creative personalities and makes photo essays of their lives and belongings. He then gets them to answer some questions about themselves on a handwritten note which is then scanned in so the viewer learns more about the subject. If you have ever wanted to step inside the house of Peaches Geldof, or Mark ‘The Cobrasnake‘, of writer Tom Wolfe, here is your chance. It is an amazing insight to the lives of these people, and it suddenly makes you feel incredibly comfortable with the mess and clutter in your own home. Satisfy your inner lifestyle voyeur and have a look at his website. These photos are from the studio and home of Pauline Forster and Toby Penrose at the George Tavern in London.

You know how visual we are at TrendLand ! Especially with our unique interface or our Images page, you can tell that we are as more privileging the visual than the context ( at least i do!) So when we find a cool visual search Engine, we are really excited !! Spezify was already online with their Beta version for a little while, but they finally launched their finale version 15 days ago – Spezify is a visual Search Engine by excellence, it browse the web like Google or Yahoo but they mixing all media types and make no difference between blogs, videos, Twitter and images. Everything communicates and helps building the bigger picture. They have a preference panel where you can narrow your search, one weird thing is they are not including Google – I guess its probably a question of rights as the Big Google dont like to share their results… So be sure to try it out and scroll down, right and left infinitely ! Have fun ! www.spzify.com

The creator of SquareAmerica.com trawls flea markets and garage sales seeking out vintage-photo treasure. Scanning and categorizing grainy snapshots of American history (taken by mostly amateur photogs) the site is a curious journey of the 20th century.
Some cool categories:
What Was On - Apparently before DVR or VCR’s people would document historic TV with a camera lens. It seems almost ridiculous nowadays to be snapping the TV screen but these homemade screenshots of 1950’s news including the assassination of John F. Kennedy and moon landing are pretty cool.
